The City of Ames Police Department and Target are hosting a National event on August 2, 2011 at Brookside Park: National Night Out.
This free event is held to celebrate a Night Out Against Crime.
Below you will find more information about participation as well as information on activities that will be occurring throughout the evening.

The Ames Police Department and Target would like to invite you to spend the Night Out with us!
National Night Out is a chance for the community to come together and celebrate its ongoing commitment to building a stronger and safer community. We encourage you to share success stories in crime prevention, discuss current challenges and issues, and to re-dedicate collaborated efforts with neighbors, police, and businesses to improve the quality of life in Ames.
Come enjoy a number of activities for people of all ages, including a bike rodeo, car seat inspections from trained technicians, police, fire, and ambulance tours, as well as games from our Street n' Greet Block Party Trailer (ladder ball, bags, sidewalk chalk, bubbles and much more).
In addition, as a way to involve Neighbors and Neighborhoods, feel free to bring something to grill and use one of the many shelters in Brookside Park. We encourage you to discuss different ways that you are implementing neighborhood safety in your neighborhood, or join in the fun and use the event as a way to mingle with your neighbors!
If you would like to participate in this free event- please let us know. Whether it is for grilling space, information on safety, or just attendance with your neighbors; we would enjoy your participation in this event.
