SPOA Quorum: Second Attempt

February 15, 2012 - 7:52 PM

Dear Association Members,

The Somerset Property Owners Association (SPOA) attempted to hold its annual meeting on January 24, but we were not able to acheive a quorum as defined in the operating by-laws of the association.  Therefore, we will need to hold a second meeting on Thursday March 15, 2012 for the purpose of approving our operating budget and the election of Board of Director members and association officers.

Each time we hold a meeting of the SPOA, we must mail notices to the membership.  The cost and effort of producing and mailing these notices consumes assocation resources, and distracts from the efficient operation of the organization.

How can you help?

A quorum can be obtained through a combination of members attending the meeting in person and duly executed proxies from members who are not in attendance.  If each member of the SPOA receiving this email will follow this link, download the proxy, fill it out, and drop it off at the Somerset Clubhouse or with any Board member, we will easily surpass the requirement at our next meeting.  The proxy form is on the SPOA website www.somersetames.com as well.

Without your help, there is a very real possiblity that we will incur the expense of third meeting.

If you already submitted a Proxy for the first meeting, you do not need to do it again, it remains in effect for each attempt until we are able to hold a valid meeting.

Thank you for your help and interest in the efficient operation of our association.

Sincerely,
John Stafford, President
Somerset Property Owners Association
