Tree Damage 7/19

July 18, 2010 - 9:52 AM

7/19 Update:

1.  City of Ames will be picking up tree debris along streets.  There are asking for all tree limbs/branches to be cut into three foot sections and put on the parking (area between sidewalk and street).

2.  Does anyone have a chainsaw and desire to cut?  The Grove Park along Stange has many many branches that are longer than three feet that need to be trimmed down.

7/18 5PM Update:  It does look like the City of Ames will collect downed limbs, although how long it will take I don't know.  City is asking to cut limbs into 3 ft sections.  See statement issued on the city's website:  Ames Trees   Also you can take items to the temp shredding area on East 13th Street.

Somerset POA Tree Damage

1.  We hope to have someone help out with the small stuff Sunday afternoon/Monday.

2.  There will be a collection point on the South side of the Grove Park (the park along Stange).  If you can help and cut down or have already cut down the damaged limbs bring them to the park next to the far South large downed tree.

3.  For the bigger trees, we will be getting a tree service.  I have a hunch this might take some time for there are a lot of trees down in Ames.

4.  Don't forget the block party tonight (Sunday, July 18) down at the Crescent Lawn.  Details are on the webpage:  www.somersetames.com
